ANNOUNCING NEW ALUMNI SERIES: TUNING INTO SMARTER JUDGEMENT

In an era of information overload, selective attention and misinformation, the ability to make good decisions has never been more tested. Judgement is indeed at a premium.

In response to your demand for more engagement, the Harvard Clubs of Boston and Ireland are delighted to announce a program of 12 FREE monthly webinars offered to all Harvard alumni - themed “Tuning into Smarter Judgement.”

These will be led by Harvard Club of Ireland President Nuala Walsh, a non-executive director, behavioural scientist, and author of Tune In: How to Make Smarter Decisions in a Noisy World, upon which the webinars will largely be based.

No advance knowledge of decision science is required - just an interest in making better decisions and understanding human behavior!

Drawing on decades of science-based psychology and neuroscience, this series delves into the psychological mechanisms underlying our perceptions, judgments and choices, shedding light on the hidden forces that shape our decisions.

•    How do you filter the best voice rather than the first or fastest voice?

•    How do you limit decision damage to get more right than wrong?

•    What does it mean to be a tuned-out leader?

•    And how can you use human insight to build power, advantage and impact?

You'll uncover a practical menu of science-based strategies to slow down judgement in real time, promote reason over reactance and prevent a predictable rush to misjudgement.

Each session will draw unforgettable examples from business, academia, law, aviation, medicine and more to explain the most common judgement traps that bind our perspectives when influenced by factors such as power, ego, risk, identity, memory, ethics, time, emotion, relationships and stories - the PERIMETERS™ Traps.

Whether you're an alum or friend of the Harvard community, you're welcome to join us on a journey into the mind in an era where misinformation is the #1 global risk. However, significant opportunity exists to maximize decision opportunity and stand out rather than lose out.

Hope to see you there.
